Ride & Drive MACCHIA
With its character and originality, the new RD automatic displays the DNA of the Arpiem brand. It offers a rare complication, that of a rotating dial that allows you to shift the dial by 60° and maintain an intuitive reading of the time at the wheel – or on the handlebars – of your 4 or 2 wheels.
This offset dial appeared in the middle of the last century, initially on pilot's watches. It was quickly proposed for models intended for racing drivers and motorcyclists, this reading offset proving to be suitable when the wrist rests on the steering wheel or on the branch of the motorcycle handlebar. Even today, this is how we call this type of watch, the "driver's watch".
The complication proposed on the RD allows the dial to be locked on the traditional position at “12 o’clock” (REST position), or shifted (DRIVE position) by 60° to the “2 o’clock” position. This is a unique feature developed by Arpiem.

The MACCHIA pays tribute to the most beautiful of car rallies, the Tour de Corse. Around its dial, we find the names of its most emblematic special stages: La Porta, Porto-Piana, or the infamous Zerubia, scene of the fatal accident of Henri Toivonen, the Little Prince, in 1986. The 10,000 index at 10:00 is a reminder that the Tour de Corse was known as the "rally with 10,000 bends". The Moor's head placed at 6:00 completes its strong character.
