The RACEMATIC TGH 2 is the automatic version of the TGH chrono-quartz dedicated to Graham Hill. This driver with such a British look remains a legend, as he is the only holder of the famous "Triple Crown," which is reserved for drivers who have won the 3 greatest races in the world: the Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Monaco Grand Prix.

On the dial, the 20 index is also highlighted in red, to echo the 20 seasons that Hill spent in Formula 1. This longevity is incredible when referring back to the sixties, when accidents and death were inseparable companions to the drivers. It was not rare at that time for 20% of the drivers present at the first race of the year to no longer be alive by the time of the last one... Things have changed, fortunately. As fate would have it, Graham Hill passed away just a few months after hanging up his helmet, in a private plane crash—a means of transport, as we know, infinitely safer than a car...

THE ARPIEM RACEMATIC CASE is made of 316L stainless steel. Its characteristics include a near-total absence of magnetism, ensuring no interference with the movement's operation, and a very low carbon content (less than 0.35%), making it particularly resistant to corrosion and wear. A water resistance of 10 ATM is provided, featuring a screw-down crown.

THE DIAL: the shape of the sub-dials (the "pandas") is inspired by the pressure gauges of 1960s cars. The main dial indices represent the graduations of a tachometer.

THE TRIPLE-LAYER DIAL DESIGN gives the ARPIEM an elegant volume, also reminiscent of the "sandwich" alloy chassis construction of racing cars before the advent of carbon fiber.

THE MOVEMENT: automatic MIYOTA caliber 9132 with power reserve. Mounted on 26 jewels. Frequency = 28,800 vibrations per hour.

THE DOMED SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL: it is the highest quality crystal available on the market. It is actually an aluminum oxide crystal, not glass. Although produced synthetically on an industrial scale, it possesses the same chemical composition and physical properties as natural sapphire. Its main virtue is its scratch resistance. On the MOHS scale, graded from 1 to 10 for mineral hardness, it is ranked at 9; only diamond is harder, ranked at 10. Most minerals found in our everyday objects are between 4 and 7 on this scale. Its domed finish gives the watch a "vintage" look.

ANTI-REFLECTIVE TREATMENT: The crystal is treated with 6 layers of anti-reflective coating designed to limit light refraction on the sapphire crystal for a perfect perception of colors and materials (the greater the number of applied layers, the lower the light refraction).

THE TACHYMETER: this has been revisited. Indices are usually arranged irregularly on the bezel. On the ARPIEM, they are placed in the style of diving watches, with the speed indicated for each 5-second index on the dial.

CASE BACK: it is equipped with a sapphire crystal, revealing the decorated rotor of the automatic movement.
